日本微生物系統分類研究会は今年で創立30周年を迎えました．そこで記念シンポジウム「微生物分類学の過去・現在・未来」を国内外の先生方をお迎えして開催致しました．特に今回は海外からのゲストとして米国農務省
ARS の C.P. Kurtzman博士と米国ワシントン大学の J. Staley 博士による招待講演を行いました．両博士は、それぞれ "The Yeasts, a Taxonomic Study"、"Bergey’s Manual of Systematic Bacteriology" の編者を務めてこられました．
